The World of N8MR & K8LCR (aka KC8NAH)

We participated in the 2008 International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend August 16 - 17, 2008.  We operated from the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse in Eagle Harbor, Michigan

For the week of August 15th to the 23rd, 2008, we not only be activated the Eagle Harbor Lights from a fixed station, we also activated other lighthouses while mobile in Michigan's upper peninsula, especially in the Keweenaw Peninsula, in the days following the ILLW.

From Aug 18th to 22nd, activations of lighthouses took place after 2100 UTC. Our activity level and times depended entirely on our very changeable schedule, so we did not guarantee that any particular light will be activated.

For all lighthouse activations between Aug. 15th and 23th, we used the callsign K8E. We have one QSL for Eagle Harbor Lighthouse QSOs and another for all other lighthouse activations.

During ILLW, we put an emphasis on CW, especially on Saturday, during the NAQP, Phone. Throughout ILLW and the week following, we were listening for DX stations, though, this being the bottom of the solar cycle, we heard very few DX stations.
