In addition to the lighthouse, Eagle Harbor has two range lights, which aid sailors navigating the rocky inlet to Eagle Harbor. There is a Front Range Light (ARLHS # USA-254) and a Rear Range Light (ARLHS # USA-255). Both are located on route M-26 just a few hundred feet east of the The Shoreline Resort.

The Front Range Light (ARLHS # USA-254) is easily visible while driving on M-26. It is on the north side of the road, facing north, toward Lake Superior.

As you can see, there's not much room between the range light and M-26. Parking there would create a hazardous situation for an activator. Private property is on either side of the Front Range Light. Very little parking room on the south side of M-26. Plus, that area is a marsh.

The Front and Rear Range Lights are aligned with the buoy seen far in the distance between the rocks.

The Rear Range Light (ARLHS # USA-255) is not nearly as easy to spot, unless you know where and when to look. It is located south of M-26, set back about 200 feet from the road. The only path to this range light takes you through a marsh. As a result, the U.S. Coast Guard only services the rear range light in the winter, when the marsh is frozen.

Many years ago, the original Rear Range Light was turned 90 degrees counter-clockwise and moved to a location along the shoreline.
